Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. Oyey does not require an account or any sign-in. You open the app, type in the players' names and play. When you buy something, the store uses the account you are signed in with in the App Store (Apple ID) or in the Play Store (Google account) — that is the store's account, not ours.

Does the game work without internet?

Yes. Once downloaded and unlocked, the content works offline. You only need the internet to download the app and to make a purchase.

What languages is the game in?

The cards and the whole interface are in English, Polish, German, Czech, Slovak and Ukrainian. The game follows the language set on your phone, and if that is none of the six, it runs in English. This website is in Polish and English.

Which phones does Oyey run on?

On an iPhone with iOS 18 or later (download from the App Store) and on Android phones with Android 8.0 or later (download from Google Play). Both versions have the same games and cards, but purchases are separate in each store: a game bought in the App Store does not carry over to Google Play, and vice versa.

How do I cancel the subscription?

On iPhone (App Store): go to iPhone Settings → your name (Apple ID) → Subscriptions → Oyey → Cancel Subscription.

On Android (Google Play): open the Play Store app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Oyey → Cancel subscription. The same list is at play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions, and the “Manage your subscription in Google Play” row in the app's Settings takes you there (it is shown when you have a subscription). Uninstalling the app on its own does not cancel the subscription.

In both stores your access lasts until the end of the paid period. Details: Terms, § 6.

I bought “All Games Forever” — do I get the new games?

The bundle covers the games available at the time of purchase. Games released later are not included — they may be available as separate purchases, in a later bundle or within the subscription. If you are missing at least two games, the app offers you a “Missing Games” bundle and you only pay for the ones you do not have yet. When just one game is missing, we show no bundle, because buying that single game is cheaper.

I have a code — where do I enter it?

On iPhone (App Store): in the app, on the “I have a code” screen. There are four ways in: the welcome screen right after you install, the bottom of the home screen, Settings and the bottom of the purchase screen. You type the code once, the App Store does the rest, and the game is unlocked when you come back. If you were given a link instead of a code, just open it on your iPhone and the code fills itself in. Codes are not entered on this website or on our App Store page.

On Android (Google Play): also in the app, on the “I have a code” screen — you get there from the welcome screen, from Settings and from the purchase screen. You type the code and the app opens the Play Store with that code already filled in; you confirm in the Play Store, come back to the app and the game is unlocked. Start from the screen in the app, because some codes only work that way. If the app cannot open the Play Store with the code, enter it in the Play Store by hand: Play Store app → profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Redeem code, then tap “Restore Purchases” in Oyey's Settings. One code works once per Google account. On Android, a creator's link leads to the Oyey page on Google Play: just install the app from it. Such a link is not a code and unlocks nothing by itself, but it lets us count the referral (see “Do you collect my data?”).

How do I move my purchases to a new phone?

On iPhone (App Store): sign in with the same Apple ID and use the “Restore Purchases” option in the app. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID.

On Android (Google Play): sign in to the Play Store with the same Google account you paid with and install Oyey — purchases made with that account come back on their own the first time you open the app. If anything is missing, tap “Restore Purchases” in the app's Settings. Purchases are tied to your Google account, not to the phone.

Purchases do not move between stores: what was bought in the App Store will not unlock in Google Play, and vice versa.

How do I get a refund?

App Store purchases (iPhone): refunds are handled by Apple. File a request at reportaproblem.apple.com. For issues with the content itself, you can also write to us.

Google Play purchases (Android): file the request in Google Play, in your order history: play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory → “Report a problem” next to the order → tick that you want a refund. Google handles it under its own refund policies, usually within 1–4 days; it deals itself with requests filed shortly after the purchase (its general policy speaks of 48 hours; the EEA rules set no deadline) and refers later ones to the developer. If more time has passed or Google said no, write to us and give us the order number from the Google Play e-mail (it starts with “GPA.”) — for Google Play purchases we can issue the refund ourselves, on the terms set out in the Terms, § 7 and § 8.

Do you collect my data?

The game itself works offline and sends us nothing — player names and settings stay on your phone. There are two exceptions. First: whatever you write to us in an e-mail yourself. Second: if you claim a reward with a code (a creator code, a discount code or a gift) or, on Android, install the app from a creator's referral link, we record that redemption and your later purchases in Oyey, so that we can settle the share owed to the person who shared the code or the link.

On iPhone (App Store): everything we know about it comes from Apple: the identifier Apple assigns to the pair “your account plus our app”, and what was bought and when. It carries no name, no e-mail address and nothing from your Apple account, and we cannot work out who you are from it. We still do not call it anonymous data: that identifier ties together the purchases of one account, so we treat it as personal data. Without a redeemed code we record nothing about your purchases at all. That is why the App Store label reads “Data Not Linked to You: Purchases, Identifiers”.

On Android (Google Play): Google does not tell us which link someone came from, and for a game purchase it does not tell us which code they used either, so the identifier is attached to the purchase by the app itself. It is made of eight characters of a hash of the creator's handle and 24 random characters the app draws once on that installation. It carries no name, no e-mail address and nothing from your Google account, and Google passes it back to us together with what was bought and when. Just as on iPhone, we treat it as personal data, because it ties together the purchases from one installation. Without a code and without a creator's link the app attaches nothing to the purchase and we record nothing about your purchases at all. In the “Data safety” section on Google Play we declare this as purchase history and an identifier: collected for app functionality, shared with no one.

Details: Privacy Policy, section 5.

Who is Oyey for?

The game is intended for adults (18+) and carries that age rating in the App Store. On Google Play the age rating is assigned by independent rating authorities (PEGI in most of Europe, USK in Germany) based on the questionnaire we fill in; you will see it on the Oyey page in the Play Store and it may differ between countries. Whatever the store's rating, Oyey is aimed at adults only. The most explicit cards can be turned off in the settings with the “18+ cards” switch. Forfeits in the games are made up by the players, so you decide how you play.
